One Word 2022: Hope

  For the past several years, I have chosen a word to guide me through the year. Last year, my word was mentor, and I worked to mentor others through leadership. As I take on the next challenge, I will continue to work on mentoring others; it is not forgotten as I take on a new focus for 2022. In 2018, the focus was humanity and to model selflessness, compassion, and kindness which all continue to be goals of mine. In 2019, my word/goal was to inspire. I continue to strive to inspire myself and others to be the best versions of ourselves--even when things are difficult. In 2020, the focus was growth, and I did a lot of it. As a lifelong learner, I will continue to work on growing, learning, and becoming a better person. With the extreme difficulties from the last two years, this year I have decided to focus on Hope. I think we need more hope, and I know that I personally have been able to get through all of the adversity because of my faith and the focus on hope. A great deal of reflec
